Project Background

  • Site: pharmaceutical utility room for purified water or RO/DI buffer
  • Constraints: limited headroom, documented hygiene controls, repeatable cleaning
  • Objectives: reduce hold-up and cleaning time, enable sterile venting, provide validation documents

Solution Overview

We delivered a 1500L 316L vertical tank designed for high-purity service. The conical bottom shortens the liquid path to the outlet, the electropolished interior targets a low surface roughness for easier cleaning, and a sterile vent portprotects the tank during cooling and operation. The layout uses adjustable legs to save floor space and a top manway for inspection.

Implementation and Timeline

  • RFQ review and quote approval
  • GA drawing and nozzle schedule approval
  • Fabrication and finishing
  • Factory tests and document pack preparation
  • Delivery and installation on prepared base
  • SAT checks and operator training

Documents Delivered

  • Material certificates (e.g., EN 10204 3.1)
  • Leak or hydrostatic test report
  • Passivation record
  • Optional surface roughness report and weld map
  • Basic installation and cleaning guidance

Outcome

  • The conical bottom and CIP coverage reduced residual hold-up and simplified cleaning steps.
  • Operators reported shorter validation time compared with the previous vessel of similar size.
  • The compact vertical layout met headroom limits while keeping maintenance access clear.

Notes: Performance feedback above reflects operator reports on site; exact values vary with process, chemistry, and cleaning program.
